About Josiah

Hello, I’m Josiah Laughlin. I am a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Doctor of Nursing Practice based in Portland, Oregon. I earned both my bachelor’s and doctoral degrees from Oregon Health & Science University. My clinical foundation is built on a unique blend of academic rigor and deep personal insight. 
In addition to mental health and wellness, I specialize in addiction psychiatry and bring my own lived experience with addiction and long-term recovery to my practice.

This perspective, combined with my training as a psychodynamic psychotherapy candidate at the Oregon Psychoanalytic Center, allows me to offer a therapeutic approach that is both professionally sophisticated and authentically grounded. 
Beyond my private practice, I remain deeply engaged in the broader mental health landscape as an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at OHSU’s School of Medicine and through my work in a psychiatric emergency services department at a community behavioral health hospital.
